Full moon in Libra: march 2019
Blessings for the Super Moon in Libra! Tonight’s full moon is all about bringing things into balance and harmony by honoring both the divine beginnings and the divine endings of the cycles. To honor the endings, we celebrate the final Super Moon in the series of 3 Super Moons that we’ve had since the beginning of 2019. To honor the new beginnings, we celebrate the balance loving sign of Libra, where the next two full moons will take place. (That’s right! This full moon is at 0 degrees Libra and April’s Full Moon will be in the final degree of Libra, opening a month long portal of balancing energy.) Tonight we also celebrate the Spring Equinox, the beginning of the new astrological calendar, and the day where darkness and light become equal. When we remember that life moves in circles instead of lines, we find a moment of balance where the ends give way to new beginnings at the point of Zero Degrees. The sun, moon, and Uranus are hovering over the zero degree mark in their respective signs as we step into this new astrological year. April Fool’s Day falls in this moon cycle, reminding us to look to the Fool card of the tarot, which represents new beginnings and bears the number Zero. It’s no surprise that the Fool card was the first card that I pulled for our Full Moon spread. As we approach this moment of balance, Libra asks us to do some spring cleaning before the next turn of the astrological wheel. Marie Kondō reminds us in her book “The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up” that “the space in which we live should be for the person we are becoming now, not for the person we were in the past.” This “space” that Marie is referring to isn’t just our physical space in the place that we call home. Libra is asking us to clean out our houses, yes, but also to clean out our bodies and our psyches. Maybe there are some things that we have put into our bodies in the past (food, medicine, sexual partners, etc) that are better left in the past. Maybe there are some thought patterns, belief systems, and grudges against yourself and others that don’t need to come with you into this next cycle. Clean it all out, and make space for better things to come in the freshness of this new cycle. Pinpoint where it is you would like to go and what it is you would like to accomplish as the days get longer and longer. Set your goals, charge yourself in the energy of our Super Moon, and take action as the wheel begins to turn once again. And finally, allow yourself to be surprised at where you’ll end up.
